A Big THANK YOU!
A Big THANK YOU to everyone who made possible this years Bark For Brunch!!  We'd like to thank The Silver Beach Hotel for providing the venue, CK Catering for providing the main course, The Hampton Inn for the pastries as well as everyone who attended and volunteered at this event!  It was so nice to see the warm faces and cold noses of everyone stopping in for a warm meal or drink and a little Christmas shopping to benefit the animals.  A Big THANK YOU as well to everyone who donated items for silent auction!  The day was warm and wonderful and a Big THANK YOU to all !!

A Big, huge, amazing THANK YOU to all the previous adopters who came out for 1st Adoption Reunion!!  We cannot tell you how exciting and fulfilling it was to see so many previous foster pets and the incredible families who welcomed our babies into their homes!  Thanks go out to all the Save A Stray volunteers who contributed to this event, friends and family too!  We couldn't do this without each and everyone of you, volunteers and supportive, encouraging adoptive homes alike!  THANK YOU ALL !!!!

Check these guys out!  A Big THANK YOU to The Ultimate Airdogs team for inviting us to join that at the 2012 Glad Peach Fest in Coloma, Mi.  It was a joy to see such happy, well-loved dogs and impressive to watch them work!  These guys are incredible with hearts of gold and we were honored to join them.

A Big THANK YOU to Coloma's BBQ, Blues and Cruise Fest as well as Animal Aid and local celebrity Pac for allowing us to join them in a wondeful celebration!  Pac is an incredible dog who is battling nasal cancer with the hard work and support of his Mom, Joyce Williams (pictured right with Pac) and many generous donars.

We enjoyed an afternoon of various festival events, visiting with our friends from Animal Aid and meeting many of the festival goers as they stopped by to pet a furry head.  Our girl Lindy even found her perfect home while visiting in Laura Baker Park.

A Big THANK YOU to everyone involved in putting this event together and making it such a fun event for everyone involved.  And a Big THANK YOU to everyone who has donated to Pac's medical care.

For more information on Pac and how you can help, visit our "What Can I do" page.

Morgan Elizabeth Piontek is shown April 28 at the 2012 Miss Southwest Michigan Scholarship Pageant. This night was the finale as her year as Miss Southwest Michigan Pre-Teen ended. Morgan's platform was Animal Rights and Welfare and during her reign she organized a dog bone fundraiser at her school, Lincoln Elementary; raising $500 for the dogs and cats of Save A Stray! A facsimile check was presented to our President, Bob Cox and board member Vicki Dunlop.

Along with fellow 2011 queens, Morgan also helped us during Bark for Breakfast and the Doggie Hayride (see photo with Pac under What Can I Do tab - shown with Taylor Noack, Miss SW MI Teen; and Kimberly Spaulding, SW MI Princess).

Pictured at the pageant are: Taylor Noack, Morgan, and Miss SW MI Emily Webster.

A Big THANK YOU to All In Love and Czar's 505 Nightclub.
Czar's recently hosted 2 nights of awesome music donated by the members of All In Love to benefit Save A Stray, The Humane Society and Animal Aid.  A GREAT time was had by all who attended and a good amount of money was raised to be split equally between the 3 groups.  Save A Stray would like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible.  We'd especially like to thank the band members.  These wonderful people come back to St. Joe every 2 years to help us all out.  I thoroughly enjoyed their music and suggest if you're a pet lover or not, next time they're in town go see them.  They are worth far more than the cover charge!

A Big THANK YOU to Cassava and Lest We Forget for partnering with Save A Stray to present our first installment of Pets & Vets.  The evening featured speakers from Lest We Forget and local veternarians for an informative and memorable evening.  Cassava presented a wonderful meal which was well complimented by inspiring and educational words from our guest speakers, Dr. Ed Blessy, Dr. Holly Shaffer as well as the Lest We Forget speakers Dan Alsbro and Jim McCloughand.  Pictured (l to r) Denny Kime, Vicktoria Dunlop, Bill Langghen, Cheryl Petke, Don Alsbro, Jim McCloughand and Lew Burchard.   And a special Big THANK YOU to Lest We Forget for donating their share of the proceeds to Save A Stray!

Pictured to the right, our own veteran Tim Stewart and his service dog, Skippy.  Looks like some lov'n going on there!

A Big THANK YOU to the Howard Ice Arena and everyone who donated to and volunteered for our 3rd Annual Benefit Sale, "Summer On Ice".  The sale was a huge success  thanks to the efforts of many volunteers and donors.  Customers received bargains on some wonderful items and Save A Stray raised money to help care for our many foster pets!  We're already talking about next year's sale.  Contact us if you'd like to donate or volunteer!

ABig THANK YOU to McDaniel's Harley Davidson for sponsoring our first Ride For Rescue Poker Run!  The weather wasn't exactly cooperative but the local Niles businesses were!  Many businesses contributed to the success of this event!  A Big THANK YOU to all who participated!!

A Big THANK YOU to Cabo and Connie Hansen of  Bloomie's for inviting Save A Stray to celebrate in Cabo's Birthday Party!  It was a beautiful day on the bluff in downtown St. Joe and Cabo was a handsome host (although the picture to the right indicates he may be developing a drinking problem!).  Many of Cabo's friends came out to celebrate with many donations being made to Save A Stray!  Cabo is always looking out for the underdog and undercat!
