Technisand Employees Honored by Grants to Save A Stray

Save A Stray received grants from Technisand employees in honor of volunteer service by two of their employees; Jackie Sanders and Wilmia Croder.

Technisand Inc., in Bridgman, has been offering grants since 2007 as part of their corporate social responsibility team mission to share monetary earnings with others.  it is also an incentive to encourage employees to volunteer and share their skills with those in need.  The grants can be donated to any nonprofit organization and are based onteh number of volunteer hours given to a nonprofit.

Jackie Sanders has always liked animals and is glad she can help.  Seeing how passionate her friend Amy Huebner is about Save a Stray, Jackie started volunteering.  She is thankful Technisand Inlc., offers this opportunity to its employees.

Wilma Crowder is also an animal lover who heard about Save A Stray through Amy and wanted to help by taking advantage of the program offered through Technisand, Inc.

Technisand, Inc., as a results of the many volunteer hours logged by these women presented Save A Stray with a $3000 grant!

A Big THANK YOU to DeAnn Rose and all the wonderful people out at Fruit Acres Farm in Coloma!  DeAnn once again organized the event and Randy and Annette, owners of Fruit Acres Farm, hosted another great Doggie Hayride!

It was a bit chilly but the rain held off and people and dogs of all shapes and sizes had a wonderful time!  Thanks to our nice (and patient!) tractor driver Michael, MANY people took hayrides through the apple orchards with their dogs.  Then it was back out again without the pooches to pick DELICIOUS APPLES!!

We had the opportunity to meet a lot of new people and catch up with some old friends.  Our children and furry, four-legged children alike got to play and run.  All this fun and they've offered to do it again next year!

We can't wait!  THANK YOU!!

A Big THANK YOU to All In Love and Czar's 505 Nightclub.  Czar's recently hosted 2 nights of awesome music donated by the members of All In Love to benefit Save A Stray, The Humane Society and Animal Aid.  A GREAT time was had by all who attended and a good amount of money was raised to be split equally between the 3 groups.  Save A Stray would like to thank everyone involved in making this event possible.  We'd especially like to thank the band members who traveled from far away, over land and sea to benefit animals in need.  Those members are, Terry Brady, Roger Burns, Kay Stickney, Tom Gillespie, Greg Horn, Chuck Hartzell, Tim King, Fred Li, Dave Maki, Jeff Petrosky, Jim Robb and Scott Schalon.

We find ourselves again saying a Big THANK YOU to The Benton Harbor Moose Lodge for hosting our Redneck Gala!  And to Ed Bagatini and his New Swing Orchestra for donating their time and talent to entertain everyone who attended!  And entertain they did, they were great as always!  Everyone enjoyed the music and awesome pork prepared by the awesome guy to the right (he's my Dad!).  A great Big Ole THANK YOU to him too!

Not only a Big THANK YOU, but a tribute...to Tribute.   Save A Stray received a generous donation from an anonymous donor in honor of Tribute and in celebration of his birthday.  "Tribute was a remarkable dog and it was an honor to have been his companion and friend", were their exact words.  As you can see from the picture, Tribute was not only a beautiful dog but a trained police dog as well.  Even though he is no longer with us, he continues to "defend and serve" by way of his impact on the hearts of his loving family.  He so touched their lives that they wanted to touch the lives of others in his honor.  We are touched, honored and moved by their generous donation and wish everyone could experience such a close bond with a very special dog.

A Big THANK YOU to The Cook Women In Nuclear Group.  They held a fundraisher in which they raffled off an Ipod.  They raised just over $1500.00 and turned that money into puppy food, dog food, cat food, cat litter, dog and cat toys, food bowls and gift cards for local pet stores!!  These women are AMAZING!!

Imagine our surprise when we arrived at adoption day at PawMart and these ladies pulled up and started unloading their haul!  Check out these pictures!!  We cannot say THANK YOU enough to everyone who took part in making this wonderful donation possible.  From those who came up with the idea, to those who ran the event, sponsored, bought tickets...and those wonderful ladies who apparently had a good time shopping, Irene Weaver and Danielle Burgoyne.

Once again, a big THANK YOU!!

 THANK YOU!!!!
